I love to go to blogs and read the person’s first posts. Sometimes I can hardly believe it’s the same person. It makes me feel that change is not only possible, but miraculous.
I’ve re-posted my first blog to show what it was like to live as a heavy drinker. Why not post your own first day?
You are such an amazing writer. I enjoy reading your posts. Congrats to you on your success!

You will be! You’re trying hard and building up your experience in staying sober. Sooner or later, it will all fall in place. 💕

I go back and read through my posts quite often – it’s a great reminder and sometimes I just shake my head thinking about how heartbreaking and scary it was for me then.

Me too. I am 5 days into a sugar detox and have all these awful psychological symptoms like anxiety and depression (which will go away), but it makes me remember that I used to feel like this all the time while drinking. Ugh!

Wow! “Awful psychological symptoms like anxiety and depression” from a sugar detox! You’ve come a long way baby! I’m guessing you’re referring to M&Ms not Pinot Grigio, yes? Good for you! You are SO blessed. Merry Christmas!

I so agree! And I went 26 days with just a couple of cookies, so I did a pretty good sugar detox. I can feel myself being drawn back in, so back to zero sugar tomorrow. And you’re right — when I think of what I was doing just two years ago — binging on Cosmopolitans — I have come a long way. Thank you!

I see you’ve recently posted on Mystical Mayhem’s blog. I worry about her. Has she responded to you?

No. I worry too. Sometimes people come back in the New Year, at least for a while. I hate to see people live in so much pain when they don’t need to, you know?

Yes, this is tough stuff. I’ll continue to check her blog. My best to you and your family for the new year and thank you for taking the time to share your journey on your blog. Your words are a gift to those who struggle.
